PENGEMBANGAN SOAL BERPIKIR TINGKAT TINGGI HIGHER ORDER THINKING SKILLS(HOTS) UNTUK SEKOLAH MENENGAH ATAS MATERI SISTEM KOORDINASI
This study aims at developing valid, reliable and practical prototype questions to measure Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) of coordination system for senior high school students. The method used in this study is the development research (DR) according to Djaali and Mulyono (2008) that consists of synthesising theory and needs analysis, step design (variable construction, indicator development, questions arrangement, making the instrument, scoring) and evaluation. Evaluation steps divided into three parts, namely: validation, reliability, and items analysis. The quality of the test questions was determined by theoretical validation (expert reviews) and empirical validation (participants answer). The quality of the item was analised using the results of a field trial included the difficulty level, discriminatory power, and distractor. This study produced a valid questions in terms of content, construct, and language with a final average of value 3.87 (scale of 5). The reliability of the test was 0.87. The result of students questionnaire analysis in the phase of field trial gained an average of 90% (scale of 100%). The average of value obtained from the student questionnaire indicates that the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions of coordination system is easy to use (very practical). Thus, Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) questions of coordination system for senior high school students is valid, reliable and practical.
