ANALISA TINGKAT KEKERASAN SAMBUNGAN LAS PIPA STAINLESS STEEL TERHADAP VARIASI CAIRAN PENDINGIN MENGGUNAKAN METODE ARGON WELDING
The purpose of this study was to determine how the effect of coolant variations on the hardness of stainless steel pipe welds by argon welding and quenching. The quenching media used in this study were salt water, oil, and coolant. The concentration of salt water used is 285.7 g / L. The oil used is the 20W 50 SG MA type, and the coolant used is the solube type with a coolant: water ratio = 1:30. The current used in the welding is 25A and the type of stainless steel used is type 201. Judging from the change in the average hardness of stainless steel pipes welded by GTAW with a current of 25 A, it can be concluded that the coolant liquid quenching medium is the best quenching medium because it has the highest hardness value when compared to air, salt water, and oil. This is because the hardness value of the coolant medium is 272 HN, this is higher when compared to the hardness of air media 253.7 HN, brine media 250 HN, and oil media 267 HN. And the quenching medium with the lowest hardness value is brine with a hardness of 250 HN, 22 HN lower than the coolant medium. It can be concluded that the variation of coolant causes a significant increase in hardness
