PENGARUH BERAT KACA DAN PERSENTASE SULFUR TERHADAP KEKUATAN TARIK DAN PERPANJANGAN PUTUS KARET GELANG
The compound of rubber band has been made using filler from glass waste with variations in the mass of glass waste 1 g, 2 g, and 3 g and the percentage of sulfur 40 %, 50 %, and 60 %. This research was conducted by using Response Surface Methodology (RSM) with two independent variables such as mass glass and the percentage of sulfur with response variable in tensile strength and elongation at break. The determination of optimum conditions was using Matlab R2015a tool and statistical analysis using Minitab 16. The results showed that the best mass glass of 3 g and sulfur percentage of 60% for the resulting rubber band and the optimum condition occurred at mass glass of 2.98 g and percentage of sulfur 60.15 % by the values tensile strength of 21.47 Mpa and The values elongation at break of 781 % at a mass glass of 2.33 g and percentage of Sulfur 63.05 %. The resulting mathematical model shows the effect of each variable on the response and can be used to predict composition optimum in the manufacture of rubber compound.
