This study aims to develop teaching materials in the form of scrapbooking learning media that can be used by students in learning Indonesian for class VII SMP Negeri 24 Palembang. The design of scrapbook media development consists of a title, about the media, learning objectives, instructions, material description essays, examples of descriptive text, evaluation and objectives. This research method is research and development by adapting the theory of Dick Carey and Carey and Borg & Gall. There are five steps in research and development, namely 1) needs analysis, 2) information gathering, 3) product design, 4) design validation, and 5) product revision. The research subjects were Indonesian language teachers and grade VII students of SMPN 24 Palembang with a total of 63 students. Data collection techniques used were questionnaire techniques, interviews and assessment sheets. Based on the results of validation conducted by material, media and language experts, this media is categorized as good. The practicality test of scrapbook media was carried out by conducting one to one evaluation and small group trials. In the results of the one to one evaluation and small group trials, students were interested and motivated to use scrapbook media in the Indonesian language learning process with descriptive essay material.
