EFEKTIVITAS EKSTRAK DAUN GAMAL (GLIRICIDIA SEPIUM) DALAM MENGENDALIKAN KUTU DAUN (APHIS GOSSYPII) PADA CABAI (CAPSICUM ANNUUM L.)
The problem in the cultivation of chili plants is the number of pests and diseases which are one of the important factors in increasing crop production. Chili (Capsicum sp) is a major commodity that demand by people around the world, especially in Indonesia. The low productivity of chilies in Indonesia is due to pest and disease attacks. One of the pests that attack chili plants is aphids. Aphids are the main pests that attack the leaves of chili plants. Controlling using synthetic pesticides continuously will have a negative impact on the environment and living things,so an alternative controller that is more environmentally friendly is needed. Biopesticides have great potential to be used as environmentally friendly pest controllers. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of gamal leaf extract (Gliricidium sepium) in controlling A. gossypii in chili plants, to determine the concentration of gamal leaf extract which affects the mortality of A.gossypii and to determine the level of resistance ratio. The method used in this study was RAL with 5 treatments repeated 6 times. This research was carried out in the ATC field of the Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University from August-November 2019, the results showed that the mortality of aphids after the application of insecticides from gamal leaf extracts with different concentrations showed significant differences in the mortality of aphids in each week of observation. The LC50 value of gamal leaf extract which was able to kill 50% of the total tested insects was 11.623%, while the resistance ratio value in the A. gossypii population at a concentrations of 10.8% had a value of 5.04, which was more susceptible than the A. gossypii population at a concentrations of 12%, 13.2% and 14.4%. Keyword : Gamal (Gliricidia sepium), Aphis gossypii, Chili
