SINTESIS NANOPARTIKEL PERAK (AgNPs) MENGGUNAKAN EKSTRAK KULIT BATANG Ilex macrophylla DAN UJI AKTIVITASNYA TERHADAP BAKTERI Staphylococcus aureus DAN Escherichia coli
Synthesis of silver nanoparticles was carried out using Ilex macrophylla bark extract. The aims of this research was to determine the optimal conditions of the extract volume and heating temperature in silver nanoparticles synthesis. Silver nanoparticles formed under optimal conditions were determined by reducing groups, stabilizer, crystal size, crystal structure, morphology, and antibacterial activity. The process of synthesis of silver nanoparticles was conducted by varying the extract volume and temperature. The synthesized silver nanoparticles were characterized using FTIR, XRD and SEM. The antibacterial activity of silver nanoparticles was tested by using the disc diffusion method on gram-positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli. The results were shown the synthesis of silver nanoparticles at an extract volume of 5 mL and a temperature of 50oC. Silver nanoparticle crystals have a size of 8.07 nm with a face centered cube structure. The OH and C-H groups in the extract act as silver ion reducers. C=C alkene, C=C aromatic and C-O groups act as stabilizers. The morphology of nanoparticles has an irregular shape. The bactericidal activity of silver nanoparticles in Escherichia coli bacteria is stronger than that of Staphylococcus aureus.
