HUBUNGAN PRAKTIK PENCEGAHAN DENGAN KEJADIAN HEPATITIS A PADA SISWA SMA IT RAUDHATUL ULUM
Hepatitis is an inflammatory disease of the liver, this disease can heal itself or it can develop into liver cancer which is generally caused by the hepatitis virus which is supported by poor environmental conditions. This study aims to determine the relationship between prevention practices and the incidence of hepatitis A among students of Raudhatul Ulum Integrated Islamic High School which is controlled by two confounding variables, namely knowledge and consumption of raw food. This research is a quantitative study with a case control research design. The primary data used were the results of observations and filling out questionnaires, while the secondary data were obtained from the Ogan Ilir Health Office and the Raudhatul Ulum Integrated Islamic Senior High School. The research sample consisted of 42 students as cases and 42 studentts as controls. The results of the bivariate analysis showed that there was no relationship between prevention practices (p = 0,127), but the bivariate results also showed a relationship between knowledge (p = 0,000) and comsumption of raw food (p = 0,049) and the incidence of hepatitis A in students of Raudhatul Ulum Integrated Islamic High School. In the multivariate analysis, itt was found that there was no relationship between prevention practicesand the incidence o hepatitis A (p = 0,494); OR = 1,456;( 95% CI = 0,496-4,271). Meanwhile, sanitation that meets the requirements includes the availability of latrines, ventilation, bedroom conditions, kitchen conditions and waste water disposal. It can be concluded that prevention practices do not have a significant relationship with the incidence of hepatitis A in Raudhatul Ulum Integrated Islamic High School students. To avoid hepatitis A outbreaks, it is necessary to increase the awareness of students in implementing preventive measures. In addition, environmental sanitation is suggested to improve thequaliity of clean water by meants of simple filtering and making a lid for open trash cans so that disease vectors are not reached.
