This thesis is entitled " Socio-Economic Development of the Bugis in Teluk Payo Village, Banyuasin II District, Banyuasin District, 2002-2017” (Contribution of Material in Anthropology Sociology Course in History Education in Sriwijaya University)". The problem discussed is how the social and economic development of the Bugis tribe in Teluk Payo. The purpose of this study was to determine the social and economic development of the Bugis tribe in Teluk Payo. This research was conducted by historical methods with data collection techniques from interview and observation. The results of this study explain that social development always experiences development especially in the field of social interaction and social stratification because the Buginese in Teluk Payo is open to newcomers other than the Bugis Tribe. Furthermore, in the economic field, it has always experienced growth, especially in 2002-2017, it was proven from the livelihoods of the Buginese since the beginning of their arrival, hoping only with sea products, then they opened suitable land planted with coconut so that until now the livelihoods of the Buginese vary.
