This research is entitled "The Development of Madrasa Ibtidaiyah Hijriyah II Islamic Educational Institution in Palembang form 1990 - 2006. The formulation of the problem to be discussed were the history of the establishment of Madrasa Hijriyah II and the development of Madrasa Hijriyah II islamic educational institutions in Palembang in 1990-2006 and how the curriculum in the Madrasa Hijriyah II. the aim of inform and explain the history of the establishment of the Madrasa Hijriyah II, to explain the development of Madrasa Hijriyah II Islamic educational institutions in Palembang in 1990-2006 and to explain the curriculum in the madrasa Hijriyah II The research method used in this study was a historical research method using heuristic steps, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography, while the approach was the anthropological approach, sociological approach and religious approach. Bared on research result the Madrasa Hijriyah II is a madrasa that has existed since the old order goverment era, which was founded in 1963. The early establishment of the teaching system in the Madrasa Hijriyah II was based on Al Qur’an education center, because the teaching is carried out in a violation by studying Islamic religious education such as reading Qur'an and learn the basic sciences of the Qur'an. Along with the development of the times, madrasa Hijriyah II also experienced developments in several fields, such evelopments in terms of the building as the, management development, developments in terms of teaching methods, and developments in terms of the activities carried out. This development is inseparable from the increasing number of students who want to study in the Madrasa Hijriyah II
