NILAI-NILAI PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER TOKOH DALAM NOVEL MARYAMAH KARPOV KARYA ANDREA HIRATA DAN IMPLIKASINYA DALAM PEMBELAJARAN SASTRA INDONESIA DI SEKOLAH
The purpose of this study was to find out and describe the values of character education in the novel Maryamah Karpov by Andrea Hirata. The method used in this study was a descriptive analysis method using an objective approach. The data source used by researchers was the novel Maryamah Karpov by Andrea Hirata. The results of the novel Maryamah Karpov by Andrea Hirata showed that the novel contains 18 values of character education consisting of 26 religious values, honest character 2 values, tolerance 4 values, discipline 5 values, hard work 16 values, creative 4 values, independent 2 values, democratic character 4 , curiosity 4 values, national spirit 4 values, patriotism 5 values, appreciating achievement 5 values, fond of reading 7 values, friendly / communicative 6 values, peace loving 4 values, caring for the environment 1, social care 14 values, and responsibility 13 values. The most dominant character education values in Maryamah Karpov's novel were religious values, hard work, social care, and responsibility. The overall value is described by Andrea Hirata into the attitudes, behaviors, and feelings of the characters, as well as various events that occur in the novel.This research can be implemented in the literature learning process in senior high school clas XI on basic competation 3.20, class XII on 3.7 and in junior high school class VIII on basic competation 3.12 Key words: Value, Character Education, objective
