EKSPLORASI FUNGI ENDOFIT DAUN TUMBUHAN SEMBUKAN (Paederia foetida L.) YANG BERPOTENSI SEBAGAI PENGHASIL SENYAWA ANTIBAKTERI
Infectious disease can found often in Indonesia and be caused by bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Antibacterials compounds can be used in the medication of infections but continued use can cause bacterial resistance, so new sources of antibacterial need to be found. Sembukan (Paederia foetida L.) is one of the plants that contains antibacterial compounds. Antibacterials compounds can be produced from Sembukan biomass but it will require lots of biomass and the presence of endophytic fungi can be used to produce identical antibacterials compounds. Endophytic fungi are fungi that are able to live and form colonies in plant tissues and produce the same bioactive compounds as their host plants. This research was conducted from November 2019 until July 2020. This research was carried out to obtain the endophytic fungi isolate of Sembukan plant which have the potential as an antibacterial compounds producer against bacteria E. coli ATCC8739 and S. aureus ATCC6538. The result of this research are endophytic fungi isolated from Sembukan leaves and potentially produce antibacterial compounds as many as 7 isolate. Minimum Inhibition Concentration value of secondary metabolite extract of isolate DS1J1 of 250 µg/ml against S. aureus ATCC6538. Secondary metabolite extract of isolate DS5J1 against S. aureus ATCC6538 with MIC value of 125 µg/ml and against E. coli ATCC8739 with MIC value of 250 µg/ml. Secondary metabolite extract of isolate DS8J2 against E. coli ATCC8739 with MIC value of 125 µg/ml. Isolate DS1J1 produces alkaloids and terpenoid, isolate DS5J1 produces phenolic and alkaloids, isolate DS8J2 produces alkaloids and terpenoid. Isolate DS1J1 was identified as Fusarium sp., isolate DS5J1 as Dematophora sp., and isolate DS8J2 as Acremonium sp.
