Gelam Putih Leaves and Ginger Rhizome are plants that contain essential oils. This research aims to determine the components in essential oils and to determine the antibacterial activity of the combination both plants against the test bacteria Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli and also the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) and Minimum Killing Concentration (MKC) against each of the tested bacteria. The essential oil was isolated using steam distillation method and combined, the components of the essential oil were analyzed using the Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) method and the antibacterial activity test was carried out using the paper disc diffusion method. The results of GC-MS analysis of essential oil showed that the highest concentration of each chromatogram was α-terpineole, α-citral dan α-curcumene. The test results showed that a concentration 5% of the essential oil of gelam putih leaves, ginger rhizome, and the combination of both have a minimum inhibitory diameter of 12 mm, 14.17 mm and 20.67 mm in S.aureus and 17.33 mm, 14.83 mm, and 19.33 mm in E.coli bacteria. The test of MIC for the combination of essential oils showed a concentration of 5% (v/v) on e.coli, and 2.5% (v/v) for S.aureus bacteria, the value of MKC cannot be obtained. Keywords: gelam putih leaves, ginger rhizome, essential oil, combination, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, antibacterial
