The aim of this research was to analyze scientific literacy in high school biology teaching materials which used by teachers in grade X in Ilir Barat I Palembang. The research method used in this research was descriptive method by means of content analysis namely collecting and analyzing Biology teaching materials for grade X of Senior High School. The population of this research were all grade X SMA Biology teaching materials used in Ilir Barat I Palembang with the research sample was the environmental change material in biology teaching materials for grade X Senior High School. This research was conducted using biology teaching materials in the form of books and modules used by teachers in class X in 13 senior high schools in Ilir Barat I Palembang, both public or private. The results showed that the teaching materials used in 13 senior high schools in Ilir Barat 1 Palembang were already represented in the category of scientific literacy with an average appearance percentage of 34.24% for the category scientific literacy as the body of knowledge, 45.35% for the category of scientific literacy as a way of investigating, 9.75% for the category of scientific literacy as a way of thinking, and 10.86% for the category of interaction between science, technology and society. From this research, it is suggested to do further research on the level of scientific literacy of high school students in Ilir Barat I Palembang who learn with analyzed books.
