PENGARUH VARIASI CAIRAN PENDINGIN DAN ARUS PENGELASAN TERHADAP KEKUATAN TARIK PADA MATERIAL BAJA ST 37
This research uses experimental methods that include welding process, rapid cooling, then tensile testing. The cooling process conducted against result of welding steel St 37 using mineral water, salt water and SAE oil 40. This pro-cess is useful to improve the tensile strength of the welding results without changing the overall chemical composition. The purpose of this study is find out how the variation of cooling affects the tensile strength of objects. From the results of the study, it is known that all welding objects have different tensile power values. Of the 3 cooling used, that a good cooling is a salt water in the welding current of 80 Ampere, this can be seen from the tensile strength of 26,096 kgf / mm². As for the cooling that produces the smallest tensile strength at 80 Ampere is sae oil 40 with a tensile strength value of 24,681 kgf / mm².
