POTENSI EKSTRAK ETANOL BIJI JENGKOL (Archidendron jiringa) SEBAGAI ANTIHIPERLIPIDEMIA PADA TIKUS PUTIH JANTAN GALUR WISTAR YANG DIINDUKSI PAKAN TINGGI LEMAK DAN PROPILTIOURASIL
Jengkol seed (Archidendron jiringa) contains of secondary metabolite such as flavonoids, alkaloids, tannins, saponins, phenolics and triterpenoids that have the potential as antihyperlipidemia. This study aims to determine the characteristics and effects of ethanol extract of jengkol seeds to decrease total cholesterol, LDL and triglyceride levels. Test animals test are divided into 5 groups which are positive control group (Simvastatin 0.987 mg/KgBB), negative control group (0.5% NaCMC) and ethanol extract jengkol seed treatment group (Doses 250, 750 and 1000 mg/kgBW). Rats have induced with high-fat feed and propylthiouracil, then have given a test preparation for 14 days after induction. The results showed that ethanol extract of jengkol seeds at a dose of 1000 mg/kgBW could significantly decreased total cholesterol, LDL and triglyceride levels by 53.25 ± 6.65 mg/dL, 19.95 ± 1.39 mg/dL and 69, 07 ± 1.40 mg/dL. The result showed that ethanol extract of jengkol seeds has activity as an antihyperlipidemia and there is a significant difference compared to the negative control group (p
