POTENSI EKSTRAK ETANOL BIJI JENGKOL (ARCHIDENDRON JIRINGA) SEBAGAI ANTIINFLAMASI TERHADAP TIKUS PUTIH JANTAN GALUR WISTAR DIINDUKSI KARAGENAN
The anti-inflammatory activity of ethanol extract of jengkol seed (Archidendron jiringa) test on carrageenan-induced male white rats has been carried out. The phenolic content in jengkol seed has potential as an inhibiting compound of inflammation. This study aims to determine the total phenolic content of the extract and anti-inflammatory effects based on decreasing the edema volume of carragean-induced mouse feet. Total phenolic contained in ethanol extract of jengkol seed was 160 mgGAE/g. Anti-inflammatory testing was carried out using the rat paw edema method in 30 male Wistar rats which divided into 5 treatment groups. Each group was induced with carrageenan. Group I as a negative group was given only 1% CMC Na, group II as a positive control was given diclofenac sodium, and groups III, IV, V as a test group with a dose difference of 200, 400, 800 mg/kgBW. The results showed that the anti-inflammatory effect of extract doses of 200 and 400 mg/kgBW was significantly different (p0.05) from diclofenac sodium. Effective dose (ED50) of ethanol extract jengkol seed as anti-inflammatory is 739.183 mg/kgBW.
