PEMBENIHAN IKAN PATIN SIAM (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus) DENGAN PENAMBAHAN HORMON Human Chorionic Gonadontropin (HCG) DOSIS BERBEDA
Controlled fish hatchery activities consist of several stages, one of the most important is management of gonad. Naturally many breeding depends on certain seasons. Many types of hormon can be used to stimulate gonadal development, but each hormone has a different dos depending on the level of maturitionit. The purpose of this study was to determine the doses of the hormone HCG which can speed up the period of latency improved the hatching percentage and survival rate of striped catfish larvae. This research was conducted at the Balai Benih Ikan Soak Bujang Gandus, Palembang in March-April 2019. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) of four different HCG doses and three replications i.e. P0 (0 IU/kg), P1 (HCG 50 IU/kg), P2 (HCG 100 IU/kg) and P3 (HCG 150 IU/kg). The variables observed in this study were latency period, hatching percentage, survival rate of larvae, and water quality. The results of this study indicated that different doses treatments had a significant influence on latency period, and the percentage of eggs hatching. The treatment doses P3 (150 IU/Kg) showed latency period 605 minute, hatching percentage 85.67% and survival rate of larvae 75.41%. The water quality indicated that pH (6.5-7.2), Dissolved Oxygen (5.1-6.4 mg.L-1), temperatures (29.0-30.30C) and NH3 (0.06-0.10 mg.L-1), were still in tolerance for egg hatching and larvae rearing of striped catfish. Keywords: breeding fish, HCG, striped catfish
