This study aims to determine the background of students fond of K-Pop, as well as describe how the form of K-Pop hegemony that exists in Sriwijaya University students. This research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with data collection techniques that include observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. In this study, researchers acted as participant observers. The theory used in this research is the theory of hegemony by Antonio Gramsci. The results of this study indicate that the background of K-Pop students is due to their perfect physique, attractive fashion, diverse musical genres, and multitalented singers. While the form of K-Pop hegemony in students is to join the K-Pop fan community, the behavior of collecting K-Pop items, imitating K-Pop fashion idols, and learning Korean.
