KOMUNIKASI ANTARBUDAYA PADA PESERTA GLOBAL VOLUNTEER AIESEC IN UNSRI
The study entitled "Intercultural Communication on Global Volunteer Participant of AIESEC IN unsri". This research aims to see the intercultural communication of Global Volunteer participants AIESEC in UNSRI and the obstacles of intercultural communication process of Global Volunteer participants AIESEC in UNSRI. This research uses qualitative methods with descriptive techniques. The theory refers to intercultural adaptation theory by Young Yun Kim, to see the process of intercultural adaptation on Global Volunteer participants of AIESEC IN UNSRI through three-dimension, which are stress, adaptation, and growth. The data of this research was obtained by doing interview with informant from the Philippines, Sri Lanka, Egypt, Germany, and China. This research concluded some results that: l) The participants of Global Volunteer AIESEC in UNSRI were experiencing cultural shock due to cultural differences, 2) adaptive personality in tackling cultural shock in the form of openness, strength, andpositivity, 3) language is the biggest obstacle in intercultural communication, 4) Other obstacles were clothes & appearance, food & way of eating, awareness of time, and value & norms, 5) ethnic background and individual experience affect the adaptation process running better.
