This study aimed to describe the existence of the Indonesian Child Guard Theater Activities Unit’91 (UKM GABI'91 Theater) Sriwijaya University. This research used the historical approach method. The focus of the research examined the Development of GABI Theater UKM 91 seen from the implementation of activities, roles and achievements. This research was focused on 2015-2020, because in that period the Theater GABI'91 experienced many improvements in the field of achievement both locally and nationally and became one of the Student Activity Units that was actively involved in advancing the development of theater in South Sumatra. This research was useful for further popularizing theatrical performing arts specifically in South Sumatra. The steps used in this study are using heuristics or collecting sources both orally and writing, through criticism of internal and external sources, interpretation, and historiography. As well as it used various methods of research approaches to enhance the explanation of this research. So that the researcher used the approach of sociology, anthropology, and political science. GABI'91 Theater was a UKM located in Sriwijaya University which engaged in the arts, especially in the field of performing arts. It purposed to collect, foster, and develop art, especially in the theater for members of the Sriwijaya University academic community. Keywords: Theater, GABI'91, Art, Sriwijaya University
