Illegal fishing in Indonesian sea has resulted in big loss in fishery sector in the attempt of realizing the people wellbeing. Maritime and Fishery Ministry makes firm policy to eradicate illegal fishing through sinking the ship of illegal fishing perpetrator. This research aimed to, explain how the personality of Minister Susi Pudjiastuti effect the change of policy for handling illegal fishing in Indonesian. Judging by the efforts which is conducted Minister Susi who tend assertive and aggressive towards the policy of foreign ships sinking. In terms of idiosyncratic factors based personal characteristics Susi consisting of nationalism, belief in one’s own ability to control events and the need for power.The result of research revealed that change of policy for handling illegal fishing, especially ship sinking policy, due to difference in personal characteristics Susi with the previous government. Where during the Minister Susi in the foreign ships sinking policy, Susi has a tend to be high sense of nationalism while maintain of foreign ships sinking policy, has a high desire to control activities towards the implementation of policy of sinking, and has a high need for power the openly enforcement of foreign ships sinking policy.
