This research entitled " Reciprocity Of Tradition Contributes To The Community Of Meranti Village, Suak Tapeh Sub-District, Banyuasin District, South Sumatera". The purpose of this research is to find out the meaning of the community in the tradition of donating and the form of reciprocity that exists in the community Meranti village, Suak Tapeh sub-district, Banyuasin district. The research method used in this study is a descriptive qualitative research method that develops descriptive data on the meaning and form of reciprocity in the tradition of contributing. In this study the research informants were selected purposively, a technique that aims to take informants from people who are really involved with the problem under study. Types and sources of data obtained through primary data and secondary data with data collection techniques such as observation, interviews and documentation. The data collected was then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman plow consisting of data condensation, presentation and conclusions. The results of this study indicate that there is mutual reciprocity in the tradition of donation. This donating tradition can form reciprocity, strengthen community harmony and also become a burden in society. The donation tradition also creates a form of cooperation in the community formed in a continuous circle that aims to help one another in living together in the Meranti village, Suak Tapeh sub-district, Banyuasin district.
