ANALISIS KEPENTINGAN ITALIA DALAM KERJA SAMA BELT AND ROAD INITIATIVE TIONGKOK
This study discusses the analysis of Italy's interests in China's Belt and Road Initiative cooperation. The study aims to explain why Italy is interested in China's Belt and Road Initiative cooperation. In reviewing this research, researchers used three approaches, namely; (a) Donald E. Nuechterlein's Concept of National Interest, which makes it clear that the national interest is like a primary thing that will always be needed by a nation or country by having relations with other countries in the external or external sphere, (b) Neorealist theory, seeing the international system run anarchist (a condition in which the absence of a single authority governs it) so that each country will help itself(selfhelp),and (c) the Concept of International Cooperation, which is an effort made by a country / other party in the process of fulfilling its needs through various frameworks of cooperation both bilateral, regional and multilateral. This type of research is qualitative with an explanative approach and data collection conducted through discussions with resource persons and library reviews. The results of this study show that Italy's interest in China's Belt and Road Initiative cooperation is influenced by economic interests, including low economic growth rate, high debt ratio and Italy's desire to increase infrastructure and investment opportunities, then coupled with COVID-19 pressures in Italy. Keywords : National Interest, Italy, Cooperation, Belt and Road Initiative
