This study examines the "Shifting of Socialization Functions in the Family as an Impact of the Existence of Early Childhood Education Institutions (PAUD) (Study of families in Tanjung Raman Sub-District, Prabumulih Selatan District, Prabumulih City)". The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative research method, while the number of informants in this study were 12 informants. Data collection techniques are done by observation, interview and documentation. This research uses the socialization theory from David A. Goslin. The results of the study found that the factors driving families to include their children in PAUD include the factors of parents' activities, the influence of the importance of education and the influence of the demands of the times. Then parents are no longer able to fulfill the roles and functions in the family, causing a shift in the function of socialization in the family. So to fulfill the socialization function, the family cooperates with related institutions to educate their children and at the same time become a day care center. Institutions that help in educating children are PAUD institutions. Keywords: Socialization, Socialization Function, Shifting, PAUD Institution.
