Pengaruh Terpaan Portal Berita Terhadap Pemenuhan Kebutuhan Informasi (Studi Terhadap Mahasiswa Jurusan Ilmu Komunikasi Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Universitas Sriwijaya). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh terpaan Portal Berita Tirto.id terhadap pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi. Teori yang digunakan untuk mengukur terpaan portal berita (Variabel independen) adalah teori terpaan media menurut Blumler dan Littlejohn (Rahayu, 2009:28) dan untuk kebutuhan informasi (Variabel dependen) menggunakan teori Uses and Gratification (Effendy, 2003:293). Metode yang digunakan oleh peneliti ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengn teknik analisis deskriptif dan teknik analisis eksplanatif yang menggunakan alat analisis statistik parametrik regresi linear sederhana. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan sampel sebanyak 120 responden yaiut mahasiswa jurusan Ilmu Komunikasi Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Universitas Sriwijaya kampus Indralaya. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan teknik penyebaran kuesioner, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi. Dari hasil penelitian diperoleh t hitng > t tabel yaitu t hitung = 5,542 dan t tabel = 1,980. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh terpaan portal berita Tirto.id terhadap pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi. Besarnya pengaruh variabel X terhadap variabel Y sebesar 63,1%. Kata Kunci : Terpaan Portal Berita, Kebutuhan Informasi ABSTACT Didit Prabowo, The Influence of News Portal On The Fulfillment of Information Needs (Study of Students of Communication Science Department of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Sriwijaya University). This research aims to find out if there is a significant influence of news portals Tirto.id on the fulfillment of information needs. The theory used to measure news portals (Independent variables) is a media-exposed theory according to Blumler and Littlejohn (Rahayu, 2009:28) and for information needs (Dependent variables) using uses and gratification theory (Effendy, 2003:293). The method used by these researchers is a quantitative method with descriptive analysis techniques and explanative analysis techniques that use simple linear regression parametric statistical analysis tools. The study was conducted with a sample of 120 respondents from the Faculty of Communication Sciences, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Sriwijaya University indralaya campus. The data collection in this study uses questionnaire dissemination techniques, observations, and documentation studies. From the results of the study obtained t hitng > t table i.e. t count = 5,542 and t table = 1,980.
