This study examined about “The political culture of Chinese ethnic communities in South Sumatera: study case at 7 ulu Kapitan village at Palembang”. The purpose of this study was to find out the factors that formed political culture of Chines’ people and to know how the political culture of the Chinese ethnic people at7 ulu Kapitan village at Palembang. Descriptive qualitative was used as a method in this study. The participants of this study were used eight informants. The data were collected by using observation, interviews, and library research. The study used the political cultures theory of almond and verbal, hitchner and carol socialization politic. The result of this study was to find that the political cultures in Chines’ people and Indonesian people are same. It was seen from their socialization process, so they would learn and know about politic through existing media. Chines’ people would realize the importance of politics in order to improve societies’ prosperity. The political culture of Chinese ethnic was a political culture of kawula or subject, that is, the community concerned has relatively progress but still passive in nature.
