This research discusses about "Empowering Women through a Family Income Improvement Business Program (UP2K) (study in the PKK Group in Lorok Pakjo District of Palembang)". The problem with this research is the implementation process and obstacles in the UP2K program. This study uses the concept of empowering Winarni. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research method. The technique of determining the informants by purposive method. Data collection by observation, interview, documentation which is then analyzed, reduced, and presented with supporting information on the findings to obtain valid data. The data source used is primary data in the form of direct observation to the research location, direct interviews with informants and also supplemented by secondary data in the form of books, documentation, journals and others related to research. The results of this study indicate that in the process of implementing the UP2K program, it was found in the form of the development stage (enabling),the stage of strengthening the potential or power (empowering),the creation of independence and the obstacles in the process of implementing the Family Income Improvement Business Program.
