Chemotherapy is still the main treatment option for most cancer patients. Besides having pharmacological effects, chemotherapy also often causes side effects that become new health problems for patients. Education about chemotherapy is important, one of which is using application media on smartphones. This study aims to determine the effect of the application of symptom chemotherapy educational applications on cancer patient knowledge. This type of research is quantitative using a pretest-posttest quasy experimental research design with control group. The population in this study were cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at the Siti Khadijah Islamic Hospital in Palembang, the sample was 15 respondents for each group. The data were collected using a questionnaire and then analyzed using the marginal homogeinity test to determine the difference in the level of knowledge before and after the intervention, and using the Kolmogorov Smirnov test to determine the difference in knowledge figures between the intervention group and the control group.. The results of this study used the marginal homogeinity test obtained p value 0.003 (p value 0.05), which means there was no difference between the intervention group and the control group. Health education using symptom education applications can increase knowledge and information about chemotherapy and how to handle symptoms caused by chemotherapy.
