The study aims to analyze how the role of Raudhatul Ulum Islamic boarding school in the life of the people of Sakatiga village, Indralaya district, Ogan Ilir district. The research uses descriptive qualitative research methods with data collection techniques that include observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The technique of selecting informants used is purposive, the research informants were 8 people. The validity of the data in this study uses source triangulation, as well as Milles and Hubberman’s interactive analysis. The theory used in this research is the theory of role by David Berry. The results of this study indicate that the role of Islamic boarding schools in community life is that the community’s expectations are accepted through social support provided by Islamic boarding schools and public trust in Islamic boarding schools.
