PENGARUH PENDAPATAN NASIONAL, INFLASI, DAN FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT TERHADAP NILAI TUKAR DI NEGARA-NEGARA ASEAN
Exchange rate has always been one of the most important macroeconomic issues because exchange rate movements affect broad aspects of economy. Since most of ASEAN countries submit floating exchange rate system, fluctuation of exchange rate to be very difficult predictable. Therefore, a study conceming the factors associated with the behavior of exchange rate needs to be done. The purpose of this research is to know the effect of national income, inflation, and foreign direct investment to domestic exchange rate in ASEAN. Dependent variable which is used in this research is exchange rates in ASEAN countries to US dollar. Exchange rate is defined as a currency that can be exchanged per unit to another currency, or the price of currency to another currency. While the independent variables are national income, inflation, and foreign direct investment. Data which is used in this research is panel data, for the period 2002-2011 and ten countries in ASEAN as research object. Data needed is secondary data. The writer used panel data regression model, that is fixed effect model for analysis. The result of this research showed that national income gave negative influence to domestic exchange rates in ASEAN significantly. Meanwhile inflation and FDI is not significant and have positive impact to domestic exchange rates in ASEAN countries.
