The research aims at analyzing the influence of fundamental factors, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and exchange rate, on the Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Indonesia.The secendory data used in this research were the data fforn GDP, exchange rate, and CPI in in the year of 1996-2012. The data were Analyzed using multiple linear regression and t-test was used to test the regression coefficients partially, and F-test was used to test regression coefficients simultaneously. The results showed that all independent variables (GDP and exchange rate) simultaneously had significant influence on CPI in Indonesia in the years of 1996-2012. Partially exchange rate variable had a positive influence and GDP had a negative influence on CPI in Indonesia
