The objectives of this research are (1) to see and to know the contribution that comes from regional taxes to the Real Regional Revenues and (2) to know the intensifications and extension of regional taxes in increasing the Real Regional Revenues of Palembang City. Research finding has shown that during the period of years 2007-2009 the regional taxes always got increase although it was not significant. That increasing was reflected from the average of effectiveness ratio that showed number more than one (a hundred percent). Its contribution to the Real Regional Revenues also got increase. The average of regional taxes to the Real Regional Revenues during 2007- 2009 has shown the number about 42%. From the ratio we can see that regional taxes are the biggest contributor to the Real Regional Revenues. One of the factors was because the items that include in regional taxes are more compared to the other items that include in Real Regional Revenues. To more increase the regional taxes contribution to the Real Regional Revenues, the writer suggests making improvements to the coordination and better cooperation between agencies. Besides that each department that involved in the management of regional taxes and any good party· manager of regional taxes and local taxpayers have to be really aware, understanding, discipline and consistent in carrying out efforts (intensification and extension) in increasing the regional taxes.
