PENGARUH KONSENTRASI TERHADAP EFISIENSI INDUSTRI PENGOLAHAN KAKAO DI INDONESIA (ISIC 15314)
The objective of this study vvas to find out the developmental levels of concentration and efficiency of the cocoa processing industry in Indonesia as well as the influence of concentration on the efficiency of cocoa processing industry in Indonesia. The data used in this study were the secondary data in the period of 2001-2011. The method of analysis was quantitalive descriptive. The value of cocoa processing industry efficiency was influenced by the number of cocoa processing companies that are still operaling and producing. The concentration values of cocoa processing industry were measured by using CR4 to find out the total added-value of the four largesl companies and the total addcd value of all the companies. The results of this study indicated that the concentration levels rose up to 96 percent with up and down fluctuations. The efficiency levels grew up to 0.23 percent which fluetuated up and down over the years of observation. The influence of concentration on the efficiency was positive and significant. The research results also showed that 72.2 percent of the efficiency variable could be affected by the levels of concentration; the remaining 27.8 percent was influenced by the variables oulside the model.
