ANALISIS STRUKTUR PASAR, DAYA SAING DAN PREFERENSI KONSUMEN TERHADAP KOMODITAS TEH DI KOTA PAGARALAM
This study was aimed at indetifying and analyzing the market structure, competitiveness and the consumer preferences on tea in Pagaralam. Descriptive and quantitative methods were used in this study. The result showed that the tea market structure contained monopolistic competition consisting of several sellers (two wholesalers, seven mini markets and two souvenir shops) with differentiated products. Although the calculation of RCA > 1 whisch means that the commodity has a comparative advantage, but in Indonesia the shares of the Pagaralam (South Sumatera) tea were to only two percent of the total area of 1.430 acres. In relation to the consumer preference in Pagaralam, it was found that most the tea consumer (21,42% of the total 70 people) hose Sariwangi product. Because they were more easily available and affordable. The Pagaralam tea products (PTPN VII) retained only 18,57% of the tea market because they were more expensive and unevenly distributed. In addition, most of the people drank Pagaralam black tea because it had good health effects for the consumers.
