An exhange rate is an economic indicator that plays an important role in an economic system. The process involves two countries that need each other for undertaking an international transaction. The exchange rate can be a means of measuring how well a country’s economic condition is. Its growing currency value indicates how well this country is in terms of its condition. The purpose of this research was to the Influence of foreign direct investment and Indonesia – International interest rate differences on the dollar - rupiah exchange rate in Indonesia. The research used the data in the period of 2005 - 2011 that were issued by Bank of Indonesia. The model analyzed the data using Ordinary Least Square. The multiple regression computation showed that the foreign direct investment in the first two quarters had a positive influence on the exchange rate of US dollar to rupiah, and the interest rate difference between that of Bank of Indonesia and the international one had a negative effect as shown by this percentage: 52.44%. The rest can be explained by other factors not by the applied model.
