The aim of ihis research was to identify the influence of inflation and deposit rate on the balance of paymenl by Indonesia. The research results show that Indonesia balance of paymenl in the period of 1995-2009 fluctuated. Deficits accurred in 1998, 2001 and 2008 whereas in other years of the period surplus accurred. The 2008 deficit hit Indonesia due to the global economic crisis that caused an increase in inflation and doposile rate. This deficit created an imbalance in balance of paymenl by Indonesia. The model used for this research was Ordinary Least Square (OLS). The multiple regression computation indicated that the inflation and deposite rate significantly influenced as much 96.72 percent on indonesia’s balance of paymenl. As much as 3.28 percent was influenced by other factors. To guarantee smooth balance of paymenl, Indonesia is recommended to develop effective and efficient trade-investment.
