The problems and the challenges that rised sharia insurance development in Indonesia is the less of knowledge about sharia insurance, especially caused from convensional insurance. The efforts to increase sharia insurance network is the society's comprehension about product, system, and details of sharia insurance because sharia insurance development is depended by society's preference. So that, the socialitation event to increase the knowlegde about sharia insurance is effective, needs the information about character of society to the sharia insurance. This research is intended to analyzed the effect of the ability and preference of society to the sharia insurance at the Palembang city. Data that used in this research is primary data and secondary data. The primary data used by interview to the sharia insurance's members about the preference and receptive behavior of society to the sharia insurance. Toe secondary data is pertained various sources, such as internet, journal, and handbooks. Technic analyze that used by linear refgression from the statistic nonparametric. Results show just the ability of society influenced the sharia insurance and the preference of society did not.
