The rationale of this research is a demand for the insurance companies as a financila services institution to have a good fianncial perfonnance so that it can provide a sense of security and user satisfaction for insurance in particular and society in general. The assessment of a company's financial perfonnance based on financial reports that can be processedusing the method o analysis of financial ratio. Analysis method used in this research is the analysis of financial ratios Early Warning System (EWS). This ratio in the study Salusra Satria used to measure financial perfonnance of insurance companies in Indonesia. EWS is an early warning system of the Condition I level of financial health of insurance companies. The company that became the object of this research is PT Bumiputera Muda 1967 engaged in general insurance. The period of research carried out for 5 periods from 2005 to 2009 Based on the results of research on the financial statements based on the EWS, a company belonging to a healthy state despite the company's perfonnance fluctuated during the study period. companies decreased investment returns that can affect investors. Income generated is not quite optimal because companies underwriting ratio is below – average industry.
