Tobacco industry has an important role in stirring the national economy through the tax sector in the form of tobacco excise. There are two major kinds of tobacco industry, namely clove cigarette industry and white cigarette industry. Clove cigarette industry in Indonesia can be divided into two: national-scale and local-scale companies. The objective of this research was to fmd out the relationship between the concentration, number of companies and the profits gained by the four largest companies and the clove cigarette industry in Indonesia. Based on the SCP approach, the research results indicated that the clove cigarette industry had a medium oligopoly market structure with an average level of concentration ratios of 62 percent, meaning that the companies had market power by using product differentiation, amount of Capital and promotion costs to benefit. Based on the OLS method, the research results showed that the level o f concentration had a significant positive relationship with the profits gained by the four companies and cigarette industry. The more concentrated a company is, the more profit the oligopoly company and industry will make. However, the number of companies had an insignificant positive relationship with the profits of the four largest companies and clove cigarette industry in Indonesia.
