This study was aimed at finding out to what extent the efficiency and effectiveness of the deconcentration fund given by the Central govemment to South Sumatran province affected South Sumatran province The data used in this study was secondary ones taken from the year 2005 to 2010.The qualitative method was used to describe numerical data taken both from the statistical findings and tables presented. This study showed that the deconcentration fund was found effective with the percentage of 86,06 % on the average. Moreover, the utilization of this fund could provide a positive impact on regional economic development which in tum would improve the welfare of the local community.
