PENGARUH TIDAK LANGSUNG NILAI TUKAR TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN EKONOMI MELALUI INVESTASI DAN EKSPOR
This study was aimed at finding out the indirect effects of the exchange rate on the economic growth through investment and export in Indonesia. The variables were the exchange rate (Rp/USD), domestic investment, export, and GDP index. The data used in this study were time series data in the period of 1990 through 2010 obtained from the Indonesian Central Bank, Coordinating Board of Indonesian Investment, Indonesian Central Statistic Agency, World Bank, and International Monetary Fund. Descriptive qualitative and quantitative methods using the path analysis were used to analyze the data. It was found that exchange rate had significant direct effects on the investment and export, investment had not significant direct effects on the economic growth, export had significant direct effects on the economic growth. In comparisons, the indirect effects of exchange rate on the economic growth through export was greater than indirect effects of exchange rate on the economic growth through investment. Moreover, the overall effects of exchange rate on the economic growth through investment were smaller than the effects of the exchange rate on the economic growth through export.
