Payment card is an electronic-based tooi used as a substitute for cash. The classical quantity theory of monev connects card payment to the velocity of money. The classical quantity theory of money assumes that the velocity of money is constant. The objective of this study was to find out the relationship between card payment and velocity of money. The method used in this study was the Grangcr causality tcst. The research results showed that ATM + debit card payment and credit card payment had a one-way relationship with the velocity of Ml after period one. However, ATM card + debit card payment did not have a reciprocal relationship with the velocity of M2 after period one, and credit card payment had a reciprocal relationship with the velocity of M2 after period one.
