ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN LITERASI SAINS KIMIA SISWA SMP DI KOTA PALEMBANG DALAM MENYELESAIKAN SOAL MODEL PISA
This research aims to describe the chemistry literacy skills of grade IX students in Palembang City in solving the PISA model questions and students' perceptions of the PISA model questions. This research is quantitative descriptive. The population of this study were students of class IX in Palembang City in the 2020/2021 school year. The research sample was 242 students from five schools based on purposive sampling technique. The data were collected using the PISA model test instrument with 9 multiple choice questions and 3 essay questions. In addition, questionnaires and interview guides were used to measure students' perceptions of PISA questions. Data analysis using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the chemistry literacy skills of grade IX students in Palembang City were 73% very low, 12% low category, 14% medium category, and 1% high category. Judging from the three indicators of scientific literacy, the indicator of the ability to explain phenomena scientifically is higher with an average score percentage of 51.06% compared to the indicators of interpreting scientific data and evidence (36.95%) and indicators of evaluating and designing questions scientifically (36, 89%). Based on the significance test, the results showed that the indicators explaining the phenomenon scientifically in five schools had a significant difference, while the other two indicators were not significant. The results of this study were supported by students' perceptions of the PISA model questions with a very low category of 10%, a less category of 24%, a moderate category of 65%, and a good category of 1%. The conclusion of this study is that the overall chemistry literacy skills of junior high school students in Palembang are in the very low category.
