ABSTRACT THE DIAGNOSTIC TEST COMPARISON BETWEEN MANTOUX TEST AND CHEST X-RAY FOR PULMONARY TUBERCULOSIS DIAGNOSE Andre William, January 2021, 65 pages Faculty of Medicine Sriwijaya University Background. Tuberculosis (TB) is a disease with the largest number of sufferers in the world, according to WHO (World Health Organization) in 2018 globally there were around 10 million people and children with TB reached 11% of all cases. Examinations performed to detect TB in children include chest X-rays, mantoux test and molecular rapid test. Therefore this study aims to determine the diagnostic value of chest X-rays and mantoux test with molecular raid test as the gold standard, and also to test the suitability of chest X-ray and mantoux test in diagnosing patients with suspected pulmonary TB in children. Method. This study was an observational analytic study. It using a cross sectional study design. In this study, researchers used secondary data from RSMH patients who checking three test including chest X-rays, mantoux tests, and molecular rapid test in the January-June 2019 period at dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang that match the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data were processed univariate and bivariate with the IBM SPSS Statistc Version 26 and Medcalc applications to determine the diagnostic value and the degree of conformity between chest X-rays and the Mantoux test. Result. Of the 60 samples, 61.7% were dominated by men, and 38.3% women. The X-ray diagnostic test obtained a sensitivity of 72.7%, a specificity of 48.9% and a diagnostic test of the mantoux test with a sensitivity of 100% and a specificity of 83.67%. The study found that the Kappa Cohen coefficient value between chest X-rays and the mantoux test was very low, 0.164. Conclusion. Very low compatibility between chest X-ray examination and mantoux test in diagnosing pulmonary TB in children at dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang, so that both tests must be carried out in establishing a pumonary TB diagnosis. Keywords. Tuberculosis, chest X-ray, mantoux test, molecular rapid test
