Background: Caries is a process of damage to the hard tissue of teeth from enamel, dentin, to cementum. Basic Health Research (RISKESDAS) 2018, the prevalence of dental and oral problems in the province of South Sumatra is 52,4%. The level of knowledge and behavior in maintaining dental and oral hygiene is one of the factors for the level of caries. The purpose of this study was to describe the dental caries index of DMF-T early adolescents aged 12 years at the public health centers in Palembang. Method: Using a descriptive survey. This study took all secondary data on the DMF-T index for early adolescents aged 12 years at the Palembang City Health Center on 2019 period from Palembang City Health Office. The data were analyzed on a sub-district Puskesmas. Results: There were 9 districts with a very low DMF-T average score, 7 sub-districts with a low DMF-T average score, and 1 sub-district with an moderate DMF-T average score Conclusion: The DMF-T index for early adolescents aged 12 years in Palembang city is in the low category.
