Background: Tooth extraction procedure becomes the highest cause of anxiety in the field of dentistry. Anxiety is normal response when someone experiencing a threatening or pressing situation, dental anxiety is referred to as anxiety arising from dental procedure. Various methods are known to overcome dental anxiety and minimize dental failures, one of which is classic music therapy. Aim: to find out the influence of classic music intervention in overcoming dental anxiety of extraction oatients in Clover Dental Care Clinic in Palembang. Methods: Quasi experiment study with pretest-post test design with control group design was conducted on 40 extraction sucjects in Clover Dental Care Clinic Palembang. Subjects divided into two groups, that were control group and intervention group. Dental anxiety was measured by Index of Dental Anxiety and Fear (IDAF-4C+) questionnaire before and after given classic music intervention. Data were analyzed by Chi-square test. Result: Classic music intervention has significance influence on extratction patients’ dental anxiety in Clover Dental Care Clinic in Palembang.
