KARAKTERISTIK KLINIS DAN HISTOPATOLOGI PASIEN DENGAN PERDARAHAN UTERUS ABNORMAL DI RSUP DR. MOHAMMAD HOESIN PALEMBANG
Background: Abnormal Uterine Bleeding (AUB) is a common gynecological problem. The histopathological features of AUB vary widely from normal to pathological features. This study was aimed to determine clinical characteristics and histopathology of patients with AUB in Central General Hospital Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang. Methods: This study was a descriptive observational study with a cross sectional design. The research data were taken from the medical records of AUB patients who performed histopathological examination of endometrial curettage in the Department of Pathology Anatomy Central General Hospital Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang for the period January 2017-December 2019 with a total sampling technique. Results: There were 92 PUA patients as research subjects. Most of the patients were 40-49 years old (43,5%) and 30-39 years old (26,1%), had a history of using hormonal contraception (58,7%), had a history of multiparous (69,6%), and the bleeding pattern was menorrhagia (75,0%). The most common histopathological features found were leiomyoma (31,5%), followed by endometrial carcinoma (13,0%), and hydatidiform mole (10,9%). Conclusion: The histopathological features of AUB patients vary greatly so that histopathological examination is important to determine the cause of AUB.
