Introduction: Breast cancer is the most common malignancy diagnosed in women. Distant metastasis accounts for about 90% cancer-related death. This study aims to identify profile of metastasis breast cancer (mbc) patients in Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang General Hospital. Methods: This study is a descriptive-observational study with cross-sectional design. Samples obtained in this study are medical records of metastasis breast cancer (mbc) patients, both of de novo and recurrent mbc, in Dr. Mohammad Hoesin General Hospital during January−December 2018 that meet the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Results: There are 93 distant metastasis breast cancer patients included in this study (17 de novo; 76 recurrent mbc patients). Most patients age ≥40-60 years (64.5%), live in rural residency (48.4%), identified with: luminal B subtype (47.3%), IDC-NST histopathology (81.7%), grade III (48.4%) and positive LVI status (55.9%). Lungs (34.3%) and bone (25.8%) are the most common sites of mbc. Most tumors identified with luminal A and HER-2 enriched are observed to have lungs metastasis (45% and 50%), bone metastasis (34.1%) in luminal B, and lungs (57.4%) and liver metastasis (28.6%) in TNBC. Conclusion:The highest percentages of distant mbc patients in Dr. Mohammad Hoesin Palembang General Hospital are found in age group ≥40−60 years, live in rural residency, identified with: luminal B subtype, IDC-NST histopathology, grade III, and positive LVI status. The most common sites of distant metastasis are lungs and bone. Most tumors identified with luminal A and HER2-enriched are observed to have lungs metastasis, bone metastasis in luminal B, and visceral organ metastasis in TNBC subtype.
