This study aims determine the condition of financial distress and the impact of the united states of america and tiongkok trade war. The population in the study data was taken from plantation companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) from the 2016-2019. Sampling method that this study use is purposive sampling method and the result was 14 companies can be obtained for the sample with a total of 19 research observations. The financial distress method used is springate and testing the research hypothesis in this study uses wilcoxon sign rank test technique using SPSS version 26.0. The results of this study indicate that there are differences in financial distress before the trade war (2016-2018) and during the trade war period (2018-2019).
