GAMBARAN PROFIL LIPID DAN KARAKTERISTIK PASIEN MENOPAUSE DI KLINIK PRAKTEK Dr. DARLINA PERIODE JUNI 2019-JUNI 2020
Background: Menopause is the permanent end of menses as the result of estrogen deficiency and it is not associated with pathology. Most women experience menopause at the age of 50-52. Estrogen deficiency affect lipid metabolism and may caused dyslipidemia. Estrogen deficiency may affect body fat mass, nutrition intake, and body mass. It is estimated that in 2020, South Sumatra would have 163.092 women aged above 50. This indicates that South Sumatra would have more women experienced menopause. This study was conducted to acknowledge menopause patients’ lipid profile in Dr. Darlina’s clinic. Method: This was a descriptive observational study with total sampling technique. The samples for this study were medical records of 34 women who have experienced menopause. The data collected for this study were age, blood pressure, body weight, height, and lipid profile i.e. total cholesterol level, LDL, HDL, triglyceride. This study was conducted from June 2019 to June 2020. Result: From 34 patients aged 51-90, 19 patients (55,9%) had normal BMI, 29 patients (85,3%) had central obesity, 22 patients (64,7%) had pre-hypertension, 16 patients (44,7%) had high total cholesterol level, 14 patients (41,2%) had near optimum LDL cholesterol level, 17 patients (50%) had high HDL cholesterol level, and 19 patients (55,9%) had normal triglyceride level. Conclusion: There was an increase in average total cholesterol level in menopause patients and minor increase in average LDL cholesterol level in menopause patients. The average HDL cholesterol level was increased and the average triglyceride level remained normal. Keyword: menopause, lipid profile, menopause patient’s characteristics
